Cemetery Monuments mean more on Memorial Day

When we take a look back at Memorial days of past, it’s hard not to think about our Veteran’s and all they have done for us. Some soldiers have left behind a family who will find themselves in front of a cemetery monument, missing their loved one. It was with great sacrifice and pride for our country that they fought for the freedoms and many of the wonderful privileges we still enjoy today. With memorial day quickly approaching, we want to take the time to sincerely thank all those who have served our country.

Cemetery Monuments mean more on Memorial DayCemetery monuments are not the only memorials marking dedication to our beloved. Memorializing those who have served our country can look like a monument, much like the ones we can find right here in Delphos, Ohio. Back in 2005, a great team lead by Rick Shuck worked together with Delphos Granite Works and Lepoworks out of Allentown, Ohio to reconstruct and erect The Civil War Monument. Before the city purchase of new land, this Civil War monument could be found at the Library in Delphos, Ohio. Now this beautiful monument can be found in its new resting place, surrounded by many other beautiful granite, brick and bronze monuments boasting of those who we will long remember with the greatest of honor and gratitude. This beautiful park still stands, holding a special piece of all our hearts.

Memorial Day is a day to take the time to reflect on all those who sacrificed their lives and laid it all on the line for our gain. Monuments for those lost are made with a purpose, and that is to bring comfort to the one who has suffered loss, and honor to the one who was lost. Here at Delphos Granite Works, we are striving to show that honor and dignity in all our cemetery monuments we have the privilege to have a part in.
