Dear Mike On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Oakwood Cemetery I want to tell you how much we appreciate the engraved monument you so graciously donated. I had thought for some time of a way future generations would ever know that indigent people had been buried in that particular plot of ground. Fourteen burials have been identified by checking the old records of area funeral homes. But the fact remains there are likely many more unidentified buried there. Now, due to your kind generosity and by engraving my little verse on the monument. Those unfortunate people can possibly be remembered as having once lived on this earth. I cannot express enough my gratitude for the part you played in my plan to recognize those buried unidentified, in a plot of ground by the city. Surely they deserved more than that. Again, thank you so very much.

When I talked to you on the 28th of April, I had no idea that he would be gone the following Friday. He didn't want to suffer, and he didn't have to.
